Joaquin Phoenix in his greatest role? Here he is “genius, rebel, tyrant” in these breathtaking images

In a little over a month, Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix will meet again for a new fresco: “Napoleon”, a biopic which is revealed through new intense images.

On November 22, Ridley Scott will return to the cinema to continue his exploration of French History. Two years after The Last Duel, the English director will look at the destiny of Napoleon Bonaparte, whose conquest and fall will be recounted in this feature film in just over 2h30.

More than a month before its release in theaters, the film is revealed through a new trailer which gives pride of place to epic images. Those of the famous Russian campaign in particular, marked by the Battle of Berezina, a river which later gave its name to an expression designating a rout, a failure.

The trailer also shows us his self-crowning as emperor. His tumultuous relationship with Joséphine de Beauharnais (Vanessa Kirby). And a little more from Tahar Rahim, in the role of the politician Paul Barras (1755 – 1829), involved in the vote for the death of Louis XVI during the French Revolution, and whose resignation favored the coup d’état of Napoleon Bonaparte.
