(Boursier.com) — Jobless claims rose less than expected last week in the United States. The US Department of Labor has just announced, for the week ended August 6, that jobless claims reached 262,000, up 14,000 from the previous week. The consensus was counting on 265,000 new registrations.

The four-week average is 252,000, up 4,500. Finally, the number of unemployed people receiving benefits for the week ended July 30 reached 1.428 million, an increase of 8,000 over seven days (1.420 million consensus).
