Unusual role for Jodie Foster: The Oscar winner is only playing second fiddle at the Sundance Film Festival this year.

The two-time Oscar winner is at this year’s Sundance Film Festival For once, Jodie Foster (61) is not the focus. Foster, who can currently be seen on screen in the HBO series “True Detective”, visited the renowned festival yesterday (January 18th) only accompanied by her wife Alexandra Hedison (54), who was filming her new short film ” ALOK” presents.

It’s not about Jodie Foster

The Hollywood couple provided plenty of glamor on the red carpet in the US state of Utah. Foster opted for a black peacoat, which she wore over a checked white shirt. She paired it with a Gucci handbag. Hedison, who has previously appeared in front of the camera for the cult series “The L Word: When Women Love Women,” appeared in a dark blue velvet jacket over a cream long-sleeved blouse. A boutonniere completed the ensemble.

Hedison is represented in the festival’s competition with her new documentary short film “ALOK”, a portrait of the acclaimed non-binary author, poet and poet Alok Vaid-Menon (32). About the film, Foster said according to People already on Wednesday on the US “Today Show”: “I think it’s about freedom and being your best self and being free.” She could “learn a lot” from this. The world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival would not be about her, but her long-time wife. After dating for a year, Foster and Hedison tied the knot in a private ceremony in April 2014.
