Things are also scary in the White House. US President Joe Biden and wife Jill had a lot of fun at their Halloween event on Monday evening.
Spooky fun in the White House: US President Joe Biden (80) and First Lady Jill Biden (72) welcomed children and families to a Halloween event on Monday evening. The US President’s wife in particular was in a good mood and in full Halloween style at the event, as several photos on Instagram show.
Spooky reading fun for families
The president and his wife distributed books and candy to students at local schools and military families. The First Lady herself worked as a teacher for a long time, which is why she created the motto “Hello-Read”. This was intended to encourage families to “grab a flashlight, pick out their favorite Halloween book, and enjoy the spooky thrill of reading together.”
First Lady enjoys the Halloween spirit
The White House was decked out in spooky Halloween decorations for the event. Jill Biden in particular seemed to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere and adapted her outfit: She wore a gray, long-sleeved dress with sneakers and a pair of cat ears. She also had cat makeup painted on her face.
About 8,000 guests were expected at the White House, like the official website can be seen. Numerous ministries and authorities also took part in the event and helped distribute the treats and reading material. Creepy readings also took place.
