WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden discussed the situation in Israel and Gaza with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a telephone conversation on Friday, the White House reported, as the Israeli army continues its offensive in the south of the Palestinian enclave.

No further details were immediately released, but the White House indicated that it would issue a more complete statement at a later date.
