US President Joe Biden (78) will have a colonoscopy on Friday. This is what the White House announced. Biden had arrived at the Walter Reed Military Hospital shortly before 9:00 a.m. (local time), reports “USA Today”. The colonoscopy was Part of a routine examination. Since the 78-year-old is under general anesthesia for the duration of the procedure, he will temporarily hand over authority to Vice President Kamala Harris (57), confirmed press spokeswoman Jen Psaki (42).
Harris, the first woman in the office of US Vice President since January 2021, is also the first woman in US history to hold the fate of the nation in her hands as President, at least temporarily.
Biden is celebrating his 79th birthday this weekend
