Joe Exotic has been hoping for a pardon from Donald Trump for months. Now his request should finally have made it to his table.

"Tiger King" Joe Exotic (57, "Big cats and their predators") has been serving a 22-year prison sentence since 2019 for violating animal welfare laws and allegedly commissioning a murder. For some time, he has been placing his hopes in US President Donald Trump (74), who could pardon him until the end of his term on January 20. Now his request should finally have made it to his table.

As reported by "TMZ", Exotic withdrew on Tuesday (December 22nd) a complaint that it had filed just last week. With her, the 57-year-old wanted to ask a judge to urge the White House pardon officer to submit his petition to the (current) president. Now, however, the imprisoned Exotic apparently believes that his request has already reached Trump – and that is all he intended.

Some supporters of Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, Exotic's real name, had previously had several conversations with Donald Trump's staff in Washington D.C. as they reported to "TMZ" in November. His chances were not bad and one was "in good spirits", one of the supporters told the celebrity portal.

Joe Exotic: Was just a "gay gun-bearing redneck"

Joe Exotic had handwritten his pardon in September. As an argument in favor of his early release, he cited the fact that prior to all his fame he was just a "gay, gun-bearing redneck in Oklahoma" who did not get a "fair trial."

US President Trump had previously announced that he would "take a look at the matter". Whether he will actually pardon the former owner of the "Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park" in Oklahoma remains to be seen.
