Joey Heindle: He wants to help people as a firefighter

Joey Heindle is training to be a firefighter. He reveals what to expect and why he is completing the training on Instagram.

Ex- "DSDS" candidate and jungle king Joey Heindle (27, "Somewhere") already has a new project outside of show business after training as a lifeguard: He is completing basic training as a firefighter, as he reveals on Instagram. There Heindle posted a picture that shows him in complete rescue uniform including a fire helmet. He is completing an intensive course at the Swiss Fire Brigade Academy this week, he writes about the photo.

A wide variety of learning units are on the program, including extinguishing, breathing protection and technical assistance. The singer also gives the reason why he would like to complete the training: "There is nothing better than being able to help people, I think. No matter what situation they are in." His followers are enthusiastic about Heindles decision and wish him the best of luck in his new job. "This is what true heroes look like," writes "DSDS" colleague Prince Damien (29) in the comments. "Sensational", says TV star Julian F. M. Stoeckel (33).

He used the summer sensibly

At the beginning of July Heindle reported on Instagram about his several weeks of lifeguard training, which he completed "only as a hobby" in his free time. "I love being in the water. And helping someone in an emergency is the greatest."
