One of Slipknot’s co-founders is dead. The band’s former drummer, Joey Jordison, has died at the age of 46.

Joey Jordison (1975-2021) is dead. The musician was only 46 years old, as his family has confirmed in a statement published by industry magazines, among others “Billboard” and “Variety” is present. Jordison was one of the founding members of Slipknot. The metal band’s former drummer and the group split up in 2013.

He had “a huge heart”

It is “heartbroken” to have to announce that Jordison “died peacefully in his sleep” on July 26, the statement said. “Joey’s death leaves us with empty hearts and indescribable sorrow”. The musician was quick-witted and had a “meek character, a huge heart and his love for everything to do with family and music”.

Ask to respect family privacy during this difficult time. Jordison is said to be buried in a private ceremony. The cause of death is unknown. In addition to Slipknot, Jordison also founded the band Scar the Martyr in 2013, played guitar with the Murderdolls and was also part of Sinsaenum.
