Maximilia was only nine months old: TV doctor and bestselling author Dr. Johannes Wimmer mourns his daughter.
The daughter of the popular TV doctor Dr. Johannes Wimmer (37, "Medicine – finally understandable") died of cancer at the age of only nine months. Wimmer confirmed this to "Bild am Sonntag": "Maximilia went on a journey to the stars in her sleep, safe and cared for in our bed." The whole family could have said goodbye in peace and quiet.
Wimmer's daughter suffered from an aggressive brain tumor that was diagnosed in August. Maximilia had not been in the clinic for a few weeks, but received palliative care at home. In his statement, Wimmer expressly thanked the doctors and therapists that they could "spend the last moments on earth safe and secure at home".
The man from Hamburg was always open about his daughter's illness and gave several interviews. He also kept informing his followers about the difficult situation via Instagram. Even now he posted a picture of his daughter and wrote: "Our angel Maxi."
"She has completed her little, beloved life and we will keep her in fond memories," says Wimmer after his daughter's death. It was a life full of love and laughter. We want to keep both of these things in this difficult time. Maximilia chose the right time for her to "leave us". "And as parents, we told her that she could go," said Wimmer.
