Terrible news that his agency, the MKS Talent Agency, confirmed in a press release: “This kind man and this wonderful actor has left us. We are grateful to have been able to know you and work with you Sir”. A key role in the legendary American series, John Aylward played Doctor Anspaugh there for more than 12 years.
According to Variety, the actor, who starred alongside George Clooney in ER, died of natural causes in Seattle. John Aylward had started his career in the mid-1970s in the theaterin the Seattle Repertory Theater troupe, of which he was a member for fifteen years after completing his studies at the Washington School of Dramatic Arts.

Spotted in 1994 by the producers of the medical series, he had played in several American TV movies before playing the famous doctor. In addition to his very engaging role in Urgences, John Aylward also starred in other successful series : The Mediums, The Fugitive, Associates for the Law, The Pratrice, Bobby Donnell & Associates, New York Judicial Police, Stargate SG 1 or Alias. His death follows that of another well-known ER actor: Dearon “Deezer D” Thompson. The latter played nurse Malik McGrath.
