John Romero is hiring for a new FPS

Founder of id Software with John Carmack, it is partly to him that we owe Wolfenstein 3D, doom or Quake. Seeing John Romero announce that he is embarking on the development of a new FPS is therefore more than exciting news. But the adventure has only just begun, and the Romero Games teams need reinforcements. A major recruitment campaign is therefore underway for this still unknown title.

Scheduled to be developed on Unreal Engine 5, all we know about this project is that it is a new license. No Quake Where doom, the latter belonging to Microsoft anyway. However, it seems that the studio is working with a major publisher in the sector, which could have left you wondering about the future of these licenses. This could, however, explain the sudden need for labour. A big title on which the publisher is counting on to shape the future of video games, or at least of FPS.

However, if this very light news can leave you dreaming, a few details remain to be taken into account. If FPS are in John Romero’s DNA, his latest successes are far behind now. And it wasn’t the games released under the Romero Games banner that were able to restore its former reputation.
