John Wick + Blade: this new deluge of action is coming to the cinema soon!

After the success of the film adaptation of “Five Nights at Freddy’s”, the action video game “El Paso, Elsewhere” – a sort of mix between John Wick and Blade – will be adapted for the cinema with Lakeith Stanfield without the role of hero.

The action video game El Paso, Elsewhere will be getting its cinematic adaptation. Released in 2023, this third-person shooter developed by Strange Scaffold is inspired by the games “Quake“, “Hotline Miami” and especially Max Payne”, which has already had the honors of a film adaptation with Mark Wahlberg in the title role in 2008.

What is “El Paso, Elsewhere”?

American actor Lakeith Stanfield seen in Atlanta, Get Out and The Haunted Mansion is currently in negotiations to play the lead role in this film which combines John Wick and Blade. He will play James Savage, a narcotics-addicted vampire hunter who tracks down his ex-girlfriend, Draculae, a vampire determined to end the world. While fighting supernatural creatures, he will have to save the hostages in the hotel where Draculae lives.

This retro game, whose graphics are reminiscent of PC games from the early 2000s, has been nominated for numerous awards including the New York Game Awards and the DICE Awards.

The actor, nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Judas and the Black Messiah in 2021, will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of Sniper Shooter and the Transformers franchise, and Colin Stark.

It seems obvious that the recent success of the film adaptation of the horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s arouses the interest of producers and makes them want to explore the video game world further.

No release date has yet been announced for this feature film which mixes action and horror. Lakeith Stanfield is also expected on the set of Play Dirty, a thriller directed by Shane Black and in which he will star Mark WahlbergRosa Salazar and Dermot Mulroney.
