John Wick: the 3-part prequel is coming soon, we know the dates

Peacock has announced the release date for “The Continental,” the prequel to the hit “John Wick” franchise, this Friday.

The John Wick prequel, dubbed The Continental, premieres at San Diego Comic-Con (via Variety).

The three-episode event series – whose length (90 minutes) and budget (20 million dollars) are equivalent to those of a movie – will explore the origin of the hotel of assassins from the John Wick universe through the eyes of a young Winston Scott (Colin Woodell) then “that he is drawn into the hellish landscape of 1970s New York City to come to terms with a past he thought he had left behind”, can we read in the synopsis.

Part 1 will begin on Friday, September 22, followed by Part 2 airing on September 29, and finally Part 3 on October 6.

John Wick fans gathered at Comic-Con to enjoy an exclusive first look at the show. Peacock featured four clips, which were shown for fans in attendance only and featured Mel Gibson as Cormac and Colin Woodell in that of a young Winston Scott (played by Ian McShane in the films).

Cast members from the series were scheduled to attend the presentation but, following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and as with many panels at Comic-Con, this could not happen.

The series will continue in the tradition of the Keanu Reeves-led film franchise, which culminated with John Wick: Chapter 4 and its $426 million worldwide box office receipts.

The first three parts of the saga are to be reviewed on Amazon Prime Video.
