John Wick without Keanu Reeves: the spin-off series is unveiled and it’s damn envy!

Peacock has just unveiled the first (real) trailer for The Continental, the series that acts as a prequel to John Wick with Keanu Reeves.

The Continental opens its doors to you. Peacock has unveiled the first trailer for its series which acts as a prequel to the hit saga John Wick. The latter will explore in three parts the origin of the emblematic hotel for assassins. It’s told through the eyes of young Winston Scott, who is dragged into 1970s New York to come to terms with a past he thought he had left behind. Winston carves a deadly road through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will ultimately take his throne.

No Keanu Reeves in The Continental, but characters that we already know for some, like Charon, the character played by the late Lance Reddick in the films, and who is camped in his young version by Hubert Point -of the day. It is the actor Colin Woodell (I Love America) who was chosen to slip into the skin of Winston Scott. They will give the reply to a Mel Gibson in good shape.

The trailer for the series gives us plenty of action and combat scenes in the sets of the Continental (where assassins were allowed to fight in the 70s). The atmosphere seems to be particularly faithful to the universe of John Wick and should logically appeal to fans of the franchise. With a budget of $20 million for 3 episodes (90 minutes each), the American streaming platform has given itself the means.

The John Wick prequel will air across the Atlantic between September 22 and October 6. The Continental should be offered here on Prime Video but no date has been announced yet.
