Johnny Depp: He reveals spicy wedding details in the trial against Heard

In the civil case of actor Johnny Depp against ex-wife Amber Heard in a US court, more and more shocking details are coming to light – including spicy statements about their 2015 wedding.

Johnny Depp, 58, is currently fighting ex-wife Amber Heard, 35, again in court. After the lost defamation lawsuit against the newspaper “The Sun” in Great Britain in 2021, the civil trial in the court of Fairfax County in the US state of Virginia recently started.

The actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million in damages over an article she published in the Washington Post in 2018 that spoke of domestic violence. She, in turn, is filing a $100 million counterclaim alleging that Depp framed her by calling her a liar.

Depp testified in court for the first time on April 19, 2022. In another witness interview on April 20, according to the British “Daily Mail”, further frightening statements came to light, including about their wedding celebration in February 2015 in Los Angeles, which apparently was quite wild.

On the second day on the witness stand, Johnny Depp also talks about his extravagant wedding bash with ex-wife Amber Heard. “Food, dancing and drugs” would have been on the program, as the actor revealed to the jury, according to the “Daily Mail”. A number of people would have used drugs, particularly MDMA.

When asked who was using drugs at the wedding, Depp named “Amber,” “a couple of friends of mine,” and a few others, adding, “Your whole gang was on MDMA.” When asked if and what drugs the Hollywood star herself took that day, he replied: “To be honest I don’t know how much MDMA they were on, but for me it would be […] a waste of the drug.” Johnny Depp was asked again for an answer. He then said that he himself only smoked marijuana – his “drug of choice”.

His daughter Lily-Rose Depp, 22, “didn’t come to the wedding,” according to the actor. “She and Ms. Heard didn’t have a particularly good relationship for a variety of reasons.”

Depp on Heard: “She has a need for violence”

After Johnny Depp denied his own use of violence the day before, he now talks about his ex-wife’s behavior. When asked how he described the violence, Depp said Heard would “slam it,” adding: “It could start with a slap in the face. It could start with a shove. It could start with a TV remote on my head It could start with throwing a glass of wine in my face. She needs conflict. She needs violence. She bursts out of nowhere.”

All the while, Amber Heard stared straight ahead, knowing full well that multiple cameras were trained on her face.

Depp denies violent action against Amber Heard

At his first court hearing last Tuesday, the Hollywood star denied ever hitting Amber Heard and said under oath, “I myself have never reached the point of hitting Ms. Heard in any way, nor have I ever hit a woman in my life.”

Regarding Heard’s allegations, he also said: “Since I knew that there was nothing to it, I felt it my responsibility not only to stand up for myself in this case, but also for my children. My goal is the truth. The Truth is the only thing I’m interested in.”

“I and my children didn’t deserve this”

He hopes to clear up his ex-wife’s allegations, saying he can’t bear to let people in his life “think I was a scammer and I lied to them”. It’s strange, “if you’re like Cinderella one day and Quasimodo 0.6 seconds later. I didn’t deserve that, neither did my children, and neither did the people who believed in me all these years”.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard wed in a private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles on February 3, 2015, four years after they met as co-stars on the set of The Rum Diary. Heard filed for divorce in 2016 after just 15 months of marriage. She accused Depp of domestic violence.

It is not clear how long the process, which began about a week ago, will take. Several US media are assuming that it could take up to six weeks before a verdict is reached. Almost 120 people are said to be on the list of possible witnesses alone.
