Actor Johnny Depp testified in the trial of ex-wife Amber Heard and denied the allegations against him.

Johnny Depp (58) is currently fighting ex-wife Amber Heard (35) again in court. After the lost defamation lawsuit against the newspaper “The Sun” in Great Britain, the US trial recently started before a court in Virginia. Depp is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over an article she published in the Washington Post alleging domestic violence. Depp has now testified in court for the first time. He denies ever hitting Heard and said according to “People” at Tuesday’s appointment under oath: “I myself have never reached the point of hitting Ms. Heard in any way, nor have I ever hit a woman in my life.”

Johnny Depp: “I didn’t deserve this”

Regarding Heard’s allegations, he also said: “Since I knew that there was nothing to it, I felt it my responsibility not only to stand up for myself in this case, but also for my children. My goal is the truth. The Truth is the only thing I’m interested in.” He hopes to clear up his ex-wife’s allegations, saying he can’t bear to let people in his life “think I was a scammer and I lied to them”. It’s strange, “if you’re like Cinderella one day and Quasimodo 0.6 seconds later. I didn’t deserve that, neither did my children, and neither did the people who believed in me all these years”.

It is not clear how long the process, which began about a week ago, will take. Several US media are assuming that it could take up to six weeks before a verdict is reached. Almost 120 people are said to be on the list of possible witnesses alone.
