Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard: Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder do not come to trial

Both Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder will not appear in court in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial.

Her appearances were eagerly awaited in the ongoing trial of Johnny Depp (57) and Amber Heard (34), but nothing will come of it: The two ex-partners of the Hollywood actor, Winona Ryder (48) and Vanessa Paradis (47) , will not appear in court in London. The British tabloid "The Sun" reports.

The Depp attorney team came to this decision and informed the court about it on Thursday. As a reason, the lawyers put on record that it was not necessary. Instead, testimonies from the two were read out.

His ex-partners jump to the side of Johnny Depp

Vanessa Paradis, with whom Depp was 14 and has two children, said that Amber Heard's allegations "had nothing to do with the real Johnny I knew". He had never become insulting or even violent towards her. In their view, they are false factual claims that would only harm him. This is all the more shocking for her, since her ex-partner has helped many people in his personal and professional life.

Winona Ryder, who was dating Depp from 1989 to 1993, also relieved him. She was "shocked, confused and upset" by the allegations. The idea that Depp was a violent person was as far from what she knew and loved him. "He was never, never intrusive to me," Ryder said. She only knows him as an "incredibly loving, extremely caring man". She felt very, very safe with him.

"I don't want to call anyone a liar, but from my experience with Johnny, it's impossible to believe that such horrific allegations are true," she added to her statement.

Process lasts until the end of July

Both statements are diametrically opposed to Heard's claims. This testified that Depp had been abused 14 times in their three-year relationship. Depp denies this and sued the newspaper "The Sun" because it had dubbed him "woman beater".

The process in London started on July 7th and is expected to last a total of three weeks. Depp denies allegations of ever beating Heard. The two met on the set of the film "The Rum Diary" (2011), in 2015 they said yes. After only 15 months of marriage, Heard filed for divorce in May 2016. The divorce became official in early 2017.
