British media reports that Boris Johnson has the necessary number of supporters in the Tory group to run again. The former prime minister has already canceled his vacation in the Caribbean.

100 members of the conservative party are in favor of Johnson’s nomination, wrote the chief political commentator of the “Sunday Times”, Tim Shipman, on Twitter, citing an unnamed source from Johnson’s environment. The BBC and Sky News also reported 100 Johnson supporters. Johnson returned to London from a vacation in the Caribbean on Saturday.
On Friday, a political editor for the Guardian wrote on Twitter that Sunak had reached the 100 vote threshold. She relied on unspecified sources.
This will allow Johnson and Sunak to take part in a first round of Tories voting scheduled for Monday afternoon. Another possible candidate is former Secretary of Defense Penny Mordaunt. A decision should be made by Friday. Truss resigned on Thursday. In early September, she replaced Johnson, who had also resigned.
