Joker 2: Arkham Asylum is on fire! Is this where Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga escape from the mental hospital?
“Joker: Folie à Deux” is currently being filmed and Lady Gaga fans managed to capture spectacular impressions of the set. A fire at the Arkham Asylum mental institution seems to help Joaquin Phoenix’s character escape.
- “Joker: Folie à Deux”, the sequel to the cinema success “Joker”, will not be released in international cinemas until October 2024.
- However, filming with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga has been underway for a few weeks.
- Footage from the set has now surfaced showing a burning Arkham Asylum.
What exactly will happen in “Joker: Folie à Deux”? Director Todd Phillips is still keeping the plot of the DC sequel a secret, but it was announced early on that the film will contain musical scenes, and Lady Gaga is also new on board as Harley Quinn.
There were also some official pictures from the shooting, which actually only confirmed the known facts again. That wasn’t enough for Lady Gaga fans, however, who are hoping to catch a glimpse of her big star on set in New Jersey.
They have now managed to capture video footage of a spectacular scene from the upcoming “Joker” movie. Then we see Arkham Asylum, Gotham City’s mental institution, on fire. Since Arthur Fleck was imprisoned in Arkham at the end of the first film, the fire could have something to do with his escape, which no doubt awaits us in Joker: Folie à Deux.

It is likely that Fleck will be assisted by Harley Quinn. In the comics, Harleen Quinzel was the Joker’s psychiatrist, who was later seduced by him and later became his ally.
In the new film, this dynamic is said to have changed, so Harleen would also be a patient in Arkham, which would explain the subtitle “Folie à Deux”, meaning “madness for two”. We’ll probably know for sure as soon as the first trailer for the film comes out, but with a theatrical release date of October 3, 2024, we’ll have to wait a few more months!
