In the current season of Joko Winterscheidt’s (45) show “Who steals the show from me?” Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (40) is one of the candidates. The proven ProSieben duo, who first worked together in 2009, simply cannot do without each other. Even though they don’t hang out with each other as often as they did when they hosted daily shows together.

In a double interview with the “Pharmacy Survey” Heufer-Umlauf described their current relationship as a “sibling thing”. Because with brothers and sisters “you often have a lot to do and sometimes very little.” And when you see each other, you “immediately fall into old roles,” said the moderator. And: “If one gets into trouble, it’s both of them.”

“We know that we belong together. Whether we want to or not”

According to Joko Winterscheidt, he and his “work wife” Heufer-Umlauf used to have to cultivate their relationship more: “Because it wasn’t so natural yet.” They both now know that they “belong together”: “Whether we want it or not.”

According to Winterscheidt, the duo used to “overreach” when it came to their closeness. “When we had a weekly show together, for example, I watched him eight days a week,” he revealed. Now they have “separate household management”.

They are still looking forward to each other

Klaas Heufer-Umlauf welcomes the new distance. “Even in a long relationship you have to have phases when you don’t see each other,” he said: “Then the high holidays when we do something together are even better.” Even after all these years, they are still looking forward to each other, confirmed the “Late Night Berlin” presenter.

In 2009, Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf appeared in front of the camera together for the first time for “MTV Home”. In 2011 they moved to ZDFneo, and their joint show continued to run with an almost identical concept under the title “neoParadise”. In 2012, the friends fought each other in “The Duel Around the World” for the first time in prime time on ProSieben. On the private broadcaster they continued their tried and tested weekly format under the title “Circus HalliGalli”.

Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf are now also successful solo, with “Who steals the show from me?” and “Late Night Berlin”. In “Joko and Klaas against ProSieben” they continue to meet regularly in the studio for family reunions.
