Jonathan Majors was found guilty in the domestic violence trial, but the former Marvel star does not have to go to prison.

US actor Jonathan Majors (34) does not have to go to prison despite a guilty verdict in the domestic violence trial against his ex-partner. The criminal court in Manhattan sentenced the former Marvel star according to US media reports on Monday (April 8) about a 52-week domestic violence intervention program in Los Angeles. He also has to continue to receive psychological treatment and stay away from the victim, his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari (30).

In December 2023, a jury found Majors guilty of assault and harassment. He faced a prison sentence of up to one year.

Civil trial against Jonathan Majors is still pending

Majors appeared at the verdict on Monday in Manhattan with his new partner Meagan Good (42). He did not speak in court. His defense attorney justified this with the ongoing civil lawsuit that Jabbari filed against him in March. Here Majors faces a high fine.

In her statement of claim, Jabbari described shocking allegations of domestic violence. In September 2022, Majors is said to have repeatedly hit her head against a marble floor and choked her. The criminal trial against Majors concerned an incident from March 2023. The actor is said to have physically attacked his then-partner after she discovered a text message from another woman on his smartphone.

Serious consequences for Majors’ career

The guilty verdict against Jonathan Majors has already had consequences for his career. Immediately following the decision, the actor was fired from Marvel Studios in December 2023. He previously appeared in the superhero film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and the streaming series “Loki”, and was expected to become the next adversary of the Avengers in the Marvel Universe. Majors has also lost other acting engagements in the meantime, such as the lead role in a planned biopic about ex-NBA star Dennis Rodman (62).
