While everyone from Central to North America was captivated by the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel made a special announcement that threw a spanner in the works – or so it seems.
Zooey Deschanel, 44, and Jonathan Scott, 45, got engaged in August 2023 – they are still waiting to get married. Until now? The TV star is now making a humorous announcement on Instagram that reveals less than it initially seems.
Jonathan Scott provides humorous excitement
Wedding bells could soon ring for the 45-year-old and the actress. Jonathan Scott makes people curious with a very special announcement. During the solar eclipse he stands in front of the camera. With signs in hand, he addresses his followers with a “once in a lifetime” message.
And this message has it all. “I have decided to share when and where Zooey and I will be getting married,” one sign reads. The voltage increases! It continues with the words: “After many discussions, weighing up all the options, we decided it must…” Then comes the big disappointment: the “solar eclipse” starts and his text can no longer be seen. How annoying! He really wanted to share it.
The fans will probably have to be patient
That was probably nothing, but the followers will certainly forgive the two if they prefer to keep their plans between themselves and total darkness. The TV personality’s humor is also really well received. The comments say, among other things: “That was pretty clever” and “pretty creative.” But many almost fell for this gag. “You didn’t have to play with us like that,” another person commented. The time will soon come when the two will reveal when they really want to get married.

The couple met in 2019 while recording James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke,” 45. Things seem to have happened very quickly after that; just a month later they were spotted holding hands. Before their romantic relationship, both of them were already married. The “New Girl” actress was dating singer Ben Gibbard, 47. She also has two children with him. Jonathan Scott once walked down the aisle with Kelsy Ully.
