A drunk member of the Vorarlberg fire brigade unauthorizedly operated a fire engine on Saturday night and took it for a joyride to a nightclub. This has consequences.
The 20-year-old had already filled up his tank when he had the crazy idea of getting into a fire department car without permission and going for a spin. First he drove into a parked trailer in Schnepfau, then the cheerful journey continued to the Conrad Sohm in Dornbirn. On the way there he turned on the blue lights several times. The firefighter parked the damaged vehicle in front of the club. An attentive taxi driver noticed the wrecked emergency vehicle and contacted the police. They eventually found the drunk 20-year-old and his 25-year-old passenger.AdvertisementThe driver was released and will be charged with unauthorized use of vehicles, endangering physical safety in traffic and several administrative offenses.
