Juan Carlos is in Spain more often again, which leads to discussions between Felipe and Letizia.

Old King has been living for four years Juan Carlos in exile in Abu Dhabi. Official reason: After allegations of corruption, he wants to avert further damage to the Spanish crown. But the 86-year-old apparently misses his homeland more and more. Spanish media report that he plans to attend all seven regattas organized by the Sanxenxo marina in Galicia between March and November. Apparently he doesn’t fly back to the emirate every now and then, but lives with his daughter Cristina, 58, in Geneva. A sign that he is fully returning?

Juan Carlos: Letizia likes to see him in exile

Daughter-in-law Queen Letizia, 51, would be strictly against it. She never had a good relationship with him. King Felipe, 56, knows that Juan Carlos is damaging the monarchy’s reputation, but shows compassion. At the funeral service for the Greek King Constantine in London at the end of February, he supported his aging father with a caring arm. Can he deny Juan Carlos one last wish? Letizia will be difficult to convince.
