The Spanish comedian Juan Joya Borja is dead. The internet phenomenon known as “El Risitas” died at the age of 65.
Spanish comedian Juan Joya Borja, better known by his nickname “El Risitas”, died on Wednesday in a hospital in Seville at the age of 65. This was initially reported by the regional newspaper “ABC de Sevilla”. Borja achieved international fame because of a television appearance and his laughing fit there. There he actually tells an old story of how he once tried as an assistant cook to clean pans in the sea, but they were washed away due to the high tide.
These recordings were subsequently altered in numerous countries in order to draw attention to special incidents. For this purpose, the video with the original Spanish sound was provided umpteen times with completely different subtitles. In his home country “El Risitas”, in German roughly the giggle, was best known as a comedian, who has made numerous TV appearances since 2000.
