Magistrate Charles Prats, vice-president of the Paris court, received a disciplinary sanction for a series of tweets in which he castigated the “Khmer greens” and equated the “yellow vests” to “black Plague“, we learned Tuesday, January 16 from a judicial source.

Considering that this judge of freedoms and detention (JLD) had “failed (in one’s) homework“and worn”damage to the image of justice“, the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) pronounced against him an automatic transfer, indicated this source, confirming information from France Inter.

Words that tarnish the image of justice

In its decision, the CSM, seized by the Keeper of the Seals after an administrative investigation, concluded that “the breaches (by Mr. Prats) of his duty of impartiality have had an impact on the image of justice and particularly of the jurisdiction in which he exercises“.

The disciplinary body of magistrates was particularly moved by several tweets posted by this magistrate, a former member of the National Delegation for the Fight against Fraud (DNLF) and who presents himself as vice-president of the union marked on the right UNI.

“Black Death” and “climate totalitarianism”

In March 2019, he calls to stop “to talk about yellow vestsand adds: “dare to name the black plague that plagues our streets every Saturday: extreme left, antifa, blackblocks. And our services know them, it is high time to stop them, police and judicially“.

On October 27, 2020, he castigates this time “climate totalitarianism (which) will pursue you to death“, in a tweet accompanied by the hashtag”Khmer Greensand a vomiting character emoji.

According to the CSM, these messages “characterize, by the terms used without the slightest nuance, a breach of its obligations of reserve, prudence and delicacy“.

Lack of neutrality and professional seriousness

His positions on theyellow vests“also have”could give rise to doubts as to its neutrality“, even though Charles Prats was called upon to rule, in his capacity as JLD, on procedures related to this movement, notes the CSM, which notes “breach of duty of impartiality“.

The CSM also criticized Charles Prats for the “frequent delays» and «difficultiesto join him, source of stress for clerks and civil servants“.

On Twitter or in books, Charles Prats has repeatedly denounced the supposed extent of social fraud on the basis of figures disputed by parliamentarians and fact-checking cells.
