fun, news, tips … what else?

A knife in the hand and a hammer in the other, this is how this particularly violent feminicide took place. Monday, October 4, Isabelle T.’s parents testified before the Yvelines Assize Court against their former son-in-law, who killed their daughter.

The portrait of this man is one of the most banal: 50 years old, father of a family, senior municipal executive in depression. Refusing the divorce proclaimed by justice in 2018, Jean J. stabbed his ex-wife 22 times in front of the horrified eyes of his in-laws. Guy T., the father, says: “It was violent! (…) I had never seen him like that.” After attacking Isabelle, Jean J. attacks the parents. He stabs Guy in the neck and Martine, the mother, in the abdomen. With his eyes rolled back, he harassed the victim’s body, hitting the head with 15 hammer blows. The father then tries to interrupt him by shouting “Stop, stop! She’s dead”. The son-in-law’s trial is being held at the Yvelines Assize Court, which will deliver its verdict on Wednesday. He is being prosecuted for the murder of his ex-partner and the attempted murder of his former parents-in-law.

According to Ouest France, no form of domestic violence had been observed before the tragedy. The accused had purchased the knife and hammer he used on his victims a few weeks earlier. After the fact, he fled to Normandy and then attempted to commit suicide. He had been arrested at that time.
