Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been cancer-free since 2018. A mastectomy and six rounds of chemotherapy saved her life. This has changed permanently since her serious illness, making her a much more conscious person, as the actress tells journalist David Remnick at the 2023 New York Festival.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a different person today
Her family helped her through the difficult times when she fought for her life. As dark as the time was for the now 62-year-old, it also taught her something: “I’m just very happy to be here. I think I’m enjoying things more. I think I’m working hard on it now Not letting stress get too close to me anymore. That’s definitely a hard task because we’re all stressed. But I now know that stress has a significant influence. I’m not saying that I got cancer because of stress , but he’s not good for you.”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus doesn’t take for granted that she even had the chance to grow older. She’s even more excited about it. One number plays a special role: 83! Why? “I had a conversation with the wonderful writer Isabel Allende. She is so thrilled to be 82 or 83 years old. She has let go of so much. She just does what she wants. She is so unencumbered today. Much more than that She was when she was younger. And I said to her, ‘Isabel, I can’t wait to be 83.’ I was serious.”
