Julia Roberts has been one of the biggest Hollywood stars for decades. In October she will be honored for her influence on culture.

Whether it’s “Pretty Woman”, “Notting Hill” or “Erin Brockovich”, Julia Roberts (54) is an integral part of Hollywood. In mid-October, the actress will be honored in a special way at a gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Roberts receives the “Icon Award”, as reported by the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”..

The award is given to artists “whose careers have had a significant, global impact on culture”. It was previously announced that in addition to the Oscar winner, three of her colleagues from the film industry will also receive awards.

These stars are also honored

The director Steve McQueen (52) is to receive the “Vantage Award” because his work has helped to classify “prevailing narratives” around cinema and to question them. The actress Tilda Swinton (61) receives the “Visionary Award” because her work has advanced the art of film. Producer Miky Lee (64) will be honored with the “Pillar Award” for her support of the museum.

The gala in the Oscar Museum took place for the first time last year. The second edition is scheduled for October 15th. Actresses Halle Berry, 55, and Lupita Nyongo’o, 39, producer Jason Blum, 53, and director and screenwriter Ryan Murphy, 56, will chair the event. Many other big names are also involved in the gala, including Adrien Brody (49), Glenn Close (75), Gwyneth Paltrow (49), Jennifer Garner (50), Leonardo DiCaprio (47) and Orlando Bloom (45) . Donations for the museum will be collected that evening.
