Welcome to this live broadcast dedicated to the women’s pursuit, at the Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic). Thanks to their incredible quadruplet during the sprint on Friday, the French women, led by Julia Simon, will start first and are the favorites for the race.
What is it about ? From episode three of the adventures of “French women win everything at the world championships”. Already excellent in the mixed relay, Julia Simon and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet did it again in the sprint, followed by Lou Jeanmonnot and Sophie Chauveau. They will be the first four to hit the track during the pursuit, 10 km long, with four shots on the program (two prone shooting sessions, two standing shooting sessions).
Or ? In Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.
At what time ? The first biathlete to start, Julia Simon will leave at 2:30 p.m.
On which channel ? The L’Equipe channel and Eurosport 1.
What starting order? After her victory in the sprint, Julia Simon offered herself the privilege of starting first in the pursuit, followed by a horde of French women. She will be followed by Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (+ 5 s), Lou Jeanmonnot (+ 41 s) and Sophie Chauveau (+ 44 s). The first foreigner to interfere in our French championship will be the Latvian Baiba Bendika (+ 47 s). Note that the Bleues can even dream of a better performance than in the sprint in the event of a good comeback from Jeanne Richard (15e starting at 1:37).
What we won’t talk about? Mathematics: an old conjecture from the Game of Life solved by amateurs
