Julian Alaphilippe: the very juicy salary of Marion Rousse’s companion revealed
This Friday, August 19 marks the start of the Tour of Spain, which will end on September 11 in Madrid. Among the runners, we find the French Julian Alaphilippe, whose annual salary reaches 7 figures.
He was not spared the blows of fate this year! From bronchitis in March to Covid in July, passing through his heavy fall in April, Julian Alaphilippe has continued to chain disappointments, to the point of not being able to participate in the Tour de France. It is therefore a little shaken but confident that the champion starts the Tour of Spain this Friday. “You have to be confident, it can’t be worse than the last few months on my side! For the season to be successful, I would like to perform well, avoid further crashes and stay healthy.”, he confided to the Parisian. Determined to put an end to this dark series, the companion of Marion Rousse does not, however, get back in the saddle without pressure. Indeed, the latter was severely reframed by his Quick-Step manager, Patrick Lefevere. “I hope he won’t repeat his round from last year, where he raced according to the World Championships. Once, it passes, but in principle I do not pay for it“, dropped the Belgian before adding: “It has not been an easy season for him. It was also difficult for me, his boss. I will always defend my riders, but it’s a little easier with someone who wins 70,000 euros than when it concerns an amount with six zeros. So I expect something from him in the Tour of Spain“.

Words clearly heard by Julian Alaphilippe, whose gross annual salary reaches 2.3 million euros. It now remains to be seen whether this kind of declaration has a positive impact on the performance of the French runner, who is however not the type to skimp on the efforts when he is racing.
