Julian Assange got married. WikiLeaks founder and partner Stella Moris tied the knot in a London prison.

A wedding in the high-security wing: Pictures and videos from March 23, 2022 show how Stella Moris, the partner of Julian Assange (50), drove up to Belmarsh prison in London in a wedding dress. The WikiLeaks founder has been held there since he was taken from the Ecuadorian embassy in Great Britain in 2019. According to media reports, Moris wore a dress by star designer Vivienne Westwood (80).

A series of images was also published on the official WikiLeaks Instagram account. However, only the bride and “the common small children Gabriel and Max” can be seen on them. The reason given for the lack of photos of the groom was: “There are no pictures of Julian Assange available today because the prison authorities consider photos of the groom to be a ‘security risk’.”

From lawyer to wife

Assange was given permission to marry Moris in prison last year. The two have been in a relationship since 2015. Originally serving as his attorney, Moris fought Assange’s extradition to the US, where he faces up to 175 years in prison for alleged espionage. Under WikiLeaks he had made alleged war crimes by the US armed forces public.
