Julien Bayou case: the internal cell of EELV “closes the file” for lack of having been able to “complete its investigation”

Accused of psychological violence by his ex-girlfriend, the former boss of the Greens had been at the heart of an internal investigation by his party since June.

There will therefore be no further internal follow-up to the Bayou affair. The EELV cell “close the file” against his former national secretary, accused by an ex-partner of psychological violence. The body dedicated to gender-based and sexual violence (VSS) could not “complete its investigation” after seven months of instruction, the party leadership announced on Wednesday.

“The initial hearing (of the complainant), the starting point of the investigation, could not take place” and “no one else entered the cell about Julien Bayou”, justifies EELV in a press release. Last September, the deputy had to withdraw from his post as boss of EELV and give up co-directing the group of Green deputies for the time of this internal instruction.

A discreet time in the media, Julien Bayou was nevertheless present at the last Parisian demonstrations against the pension reform, on January 19 and 31. The chosen one from Paris appeared on the sidelines of the other personalities of the Nupes, isolated and relatively bitter. The latter criticizes the internal cell for not having heard him in his investigations. According to his entourage, Julien Bayou would have even asked seven times to be heard by this body, in vain. He hoped that the file would be closed on the occasion of the EELV Federal Council which is being held this weekend.

A relative also indicates that Julien Bayou was struck by the presence in this support cell of Sandrine Rousseau, of whom he suspects the bias in the investigation of VSS. Considering himself now freed from the weight of this affair, the parliamentarian will be able to express himself again on the files on which he is working in the Assembly.
