Julitta Münch: First "Morgenmagazin" presenter dies at the age of 60

"The journalist Julitta Münch died in Lohmar on May 21, 2020 at the age of 60." The broadcaster WDR announced on Sunday in a press release. "The early death of Julitta Münch makes us very sad at the WDR. The radio was her passion. She was an accomplished journalist and an excellent moderator. The audience appreciated her attentive manner," said WDR director Tom Buhrow (61) in the Message cited. For the station, she had worked first on television, then on the radio.

Born in Düsseldorf, she became known throughout Germany as the first moderator of the ARD "Morgenmagazins", which she presented together with Jürgen Drensek from 1992 to 1994. From 1995, Münch hosted on the WDR radio, first the programs "Morgenecho" and "Curiosity suffice" and then from 1997 to the end of 2010 "Hallo-Ü-Wagen". The political scientist also worked for the ARD as a reporter and moderated the "Wirtschaftsmagazin" and the "Morgenmagazin" at Deutschlandfunk.
