July’s “free” games are here, it’s crazy!

The new “free” PlayStation Plus Essential games are now available to all subscribers. And this month will be excellent for many players.

End clap for June 2023 PlayStation Plus games. NBA 2K23, Trek to Yomi and Jurassic World Evolution 2 are leaving the service for good, making way for a new trio. Summer will be frenzied, but Sony is pulling out all the stops for those who prefer to stay cool in front of their console. PS Plus subscribers can now add new productions to their library to keep until they decide to end their subscription. On the program, a huge FPS, a committed independent game and a former Xbox exclusive.

PS Plus games for July 2023 are here

Sony is pulling out the heavy artillery to brighten up your summer. Literally and figuratively, since the headliner of this monthly trio is none other than Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, whether we like it or not. Treyarch’s huge FPS was far from unanimous when it was released, but what better way to offer it to all PS Plus subscribers to give it a second wind. And if the gunfights and big guns are not your style, you can turn to a little sweet break with Endling Extinction is Forever. With its cute little foxes to protect and its pretty face, the small Spanish production would almost hide its game.

Under adorable tunes, the independent game knows how to be dark, sometimes cruel to reflect the themes addressed. This title offered at the PS Plus in July 2023 has a real desire to raise awareness on important subjects, in particular the impact of human activity on biodiversity. Then there is the one that will probably steal the show from everyone: Alan Wake Remastered. Considered by many to be Remedy’s best game and one of the tenors of the genre, the initiatory episode returns in the most beautiful of its forms. A psychological thriller relatively unknown to the general public, which will return in October with a long-awaited sequel. The perfect opportunity to get up to speed.

List of PlayStation Plus games of the month

  • Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War (PS5 | PS4)
  • Alan Wake Remastered (PS5 | PS4)
  • Endling – Extinction is Forever (PS5 | PS4)

Introducing the PS Plus games of July 2023

July 2023 PS Plus games will be available until August 5, 2023 in the morning. To retrieve them, go to the tab dedicated to the service on your console, then add each of the “offered” titles to your library. We also recall that members of PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium will benefit from new additions later in the month. In the meantime, we offer you a small presentation of this line-up:

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Guns, war and the 80s. This is how the direct sequel to Call of Duty Black Ops can be summed up in a few words. The single-player campaign plunges players into the heart of one of the strangest political wars where historical figures follow one another in a story that can be savored like a good action movie. In the shoes of an elite operator, you will take part in a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. A rather half-hearted episode, which has since received many updates. Zombie mode will raise the level a bit, having always been so erased when it was released in 2020.

Alan Wake Remastered

If you haven’t, now is the time with your PS Plus subscription. Immerse yourself in the mysterious town of Bright Falls with improved graphics and gameplay. Follow troubled author Alan Wake as he searches for his missing wife in this small Pacific Northwest town. Quickly, he discovers the pages of a horror novel that he would have written without remembering it. His sanity is in question. Page after page, the story becomes real and a presence of unearthly darkness hovers in the air. Armed with a simple flashlight and a pistol, the novelist must survive this nightmarish journey.

Endling – Extinction is Forever

The little independent game from this new PS Plus trio from July 2023. Endling – Extinction is Forever is a committed title that pushes you to discover the destructive force of the human race. You play as the last vixen on Earth, forced to care for her young as humans corrupt and pollute the environment. Feed your cubs, watch them grow, help them face their fears and above all, help them survive. A touching, at times poignant eco-conscious adventure that will only take four short hours of your time.
