This Friday, the RTL jungle camp is in its 16th season. When can the first episode be seen, who is moderating and who is moving to the camp?
The jungle camp 2023 starts this Friday, January 13, on RTL (and RTL+). How can viewers follow the popular reality TV show, who will be hosting season 16 and which campers are participating in Australia?
Broadcast dates and moderation duo
The opening episode will start at 9:30 p.m., followed by a daily broadcast from Australia. Except for Fridays, when the show starts at 9:30 p.m., it will be on other days each broadcast from 10:15 p.m. A total of 18 jungle camp episodes have been announced. After the finale (episode 17, Sunday, January 29, 2023 – 10:15 p.m.) the reunion of the jungle stars on Monday, January 30 (episode 18, 8:15 p.m.) will follow on “I’m a Star – Holt get me out of here! The big reunion”. In “I’m a star – get me out of here! The hour after” (for the first time on Friday, January 13, 11:45 p.m. on RTL) the post-processing of the jungle camp episode with Angela Finger-Erben (42) and Olivia Jones takes place every day (53).
For the first time, Sonja Zietlow (54) will moderate the popular reality show together with Jan Köppen (39) after Daniel Hartwich (44) said goodbye. Köppen has a lot of moderation experience. “I’ve been doing the job for so long that I’ve gotten used to a certain amount of pressure and can deal with it well,” he said in an interview with spot on news last November. “In Australia, shortly before the first live broadcast, my heart will probably be beating pretty fast.”
The candidates
Who will succeed Filip Pavlović (28)? Musicians Lucas Cordalis (55), “Playboy” and reality TV star Cecilia Asoro (25), “DSDS” singer and “Checker vom Neckar” Cosimo Citiolo (41), YouTube star and influencer Jolina are fighting for the jungle crown Mennen (30), radio presenter Verena Kerth (41), actress Jana Pallaske, designer and soccer star wife Claudia Effenberg (57), top model Papis Loveday (46), model and “GNTM” bitch Tessa Bergmeier and musician Markus Mörl ( 63).
The participation of trash TV macho Luigi “Gigi” Birofio (23) was on the brink in the past few days. The reality TV actor had tested positive for the corona virus, but has now recovered from his corona infection and has tested “multiple times negative”, as RTL said last Thursday.
Shortly before the start, make-up artist and reality TV star Djamila Rowe (55) was surprisingly announced as another candidate. The 55-year-old showed two years ago on “I’m a Star – The Big Jungle Show” in Germany how much she would like to sit by the campfire in Australia. At that time she took second place and, unlike the winner Filip Pavlović, could not get a golden ticket for the jungle camp.
What about Martin Semmelrogge?
It is not yet known how the actor Martin Semmelrogge (67, “Das Boot”), who was also announced, is doing. “About Martin Semmelrogge’s entry to Australia and his participation in ‘I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!’ we are not giving out any further information at this point in time and until further notice,” explained RTL.
