Jungle camp: what does the replacement show look like?

What will jungle camp fans get to see in 2021? Rumor has it that the candidates for the "IBES" show could play for participation in the camp.

The Australian jungle is canceled, the replacement location Wales has also been deleted: the coronavirus pandemic has meanwhile caused frustration in the jungle camp. "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" (also via TVNow) will take place in 2021, explained RTL. Just not in Wales as planned, but in Germany. A "new, exciting IBES show" with Sonja Zietlow (52) and Daniel Hartwich (42) is being planned, explained RTL entertainment director Markus Küttner in October. The audience could look forward to "a great spectacle in January".

Now there are rumors what the jungle camp replacement could look like. The "Bild" newspaper reports that the broadcaster and production company ITV are "tinkering" with a highlight show similar to "I'm a star – let me in here". It ran in 2015, former jungle candidates fought to return to the camp. Winner Brigitte Nielsen (57) took part in the original show for the second time in 2016.

Qualification for the "real jungle camp"?

According to "Bild", the new show is supposed to be about qualifying for "the real jungle camp", but with new candidates. RTL did not want to comment on the speculation about the show, which according to the paper could run at the end of January, the report said.

Anniversary in Germany

The jungle camp, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in January 2021, should not be produced in Australia for the first time, but in Wales – more precisely at Gwrych Castle. With the increase in the number of infections, however, RTL decided against it. Instead, the "IBES" show with Sonja Zietlow and Daniel Hartwich was announced in Germany in October. Zietlow has hosted the show since the first season, Daniel Hartwich has been there since season seven.
