Are the jungle campers returning to Australia? The British version of the hit show has apparently got the green light.

Is the jungle camp returning to Australia? As “The Sun” reports, Australia’s border authorities have given the go-ahead for the UK version of the hit show. The German edition also returns, “I’m a star – get me out of here!” (RTL), back to Down Under? In Australia, the two shows shared the camp.

In 2020, the corona pandemic forced the British jungle camp to rethink. Due to travel restrictions, the TV format could not be shot in Australia as usual, but had to switch to a ruin in Wales. In 2021 there could now be the hoped-for comeback in the jungle. Allegedly, the producers of the ITV format have already started to inform the potential participants of this year’s season that the jungle camp may be filmed in Australia again. “Everyone is delighted with the news. Everything looks like there will be a return to the jungle,” a source told the British newspaper.

“Glitz and Glamor of the Jungle”

“As great as the year was in the castle, the environment and the glitter and glamor of the jungle make the show,” the source continued. The station is said to have already taken care of receiving the necessary documents for entry to Australia, even if travel restrictions for tourists would persist. It has not yet been finally decided that the camp will really take place again in the familiar surroundings in November.

How will the German jungle camp continue?

The location in Murwillumbah is shared by the British and German versions of the jungle camp. It is not yet known whether the RTL program will also return Down Under. The RTL jungle camp should also be built in early January 2021 in the ruins of the 200-year-old “Gwrych Castle” in Wales. But with the increase in the number of infections in Wales, the decision was ultimately made to manufacture in Germany.

Instead, the station broadcast the replacement program “I am a star – The great jungle show”, in which a permanent participant for the upcoming jungle camp season was sought. In the end, ex- “Bachelorette” candidate Filip Pavlovic (27) won the ticket for the 2022 camp. Singer Lucas Cordalis (53) and designer Harald Glööckler (55) are also candidates for the next jungle camp.
