Junior World Championships Norway – Kallan already wins the race in his head

After silver at the Junior European Championships, toboggan ace Noah Kallan (RV Hüttau-Eben) is also one of the favorites at the World Championships. The 19-year-old relies on mental training to reach his potential. However, he didn’t quite manage to do that in the first training sessions.

Silver at the Junior European Championships puts sledder Noah Kallan among the favorites at the World Championships in Lillehammer (Nor). He has been in Norway with his teammates for more than a week. However, the numerous training sessions caused the Pongauer to go deeper: “Some of them were very fast and I couldn’t keep up with them.” Kallan struggled particularly with the material: “We didn’t set it up correctly. But now it should fit well.” Behind the European champion Kaspars Rinks (Let) and the German Marco Leger, the Salzburger is definitely one of the medal candidates. The race starts on Saturday at 9.30 a.m. Back to school after the World Cup In order to be fully present on race day, the 19-year-old swears by mental training. “It’s really interesting and you can use it to prepare well.” Because the toboggan ace goes through all the key points the evening before and concentrates on them. He wants to win the race in his head, so to speak. The SSM student also deals with the topic for school reasons and writes his pre-scientific work (VWA) on it. After the World Cup, he can devote himself fully to it. As soon as he has completed his high school diploma, he will be able to focus more on the ice track next winter. This would be easier with a World Cup medal.
