Junos dissolved – Neos in crisis: members leave the party

The defeat in the Carinthian state elections left deep marks on the Neos. Officials left the party in droves.

The internal disputes at the Neos do not abate. After the Seebodener NEOS community board Roman Grechenig asked the state spokesman Janos Juvan to resign and threatened to leave the party himself, the crisis continued in the party. Since the lost election, several party members appear to have resigned. From the original three regional coordinators (Villach, Feldkirchen, Wolfsberg) there should now be none left. Youth organization is disbanding At the Junos, the pink youth organization, the deputy state chairman and the state manager also threw in the towel this week and ended their party membership. The reason for this is also said to be dissatisfaction with party leadership Janos Juvan. “This means that the state board no longer has a quorum and Junos has to dissolve,” explains Lukas Latschen from Bad Kleinkirchheim, current ex-Junos state chairman, who is also considered criticism of Janus Juvan. That should hurt Neos Carinthia. Because of the approximately 75 paying members, 25 of them are from the Junos alone. “Now two weeks must pass. Then we’ll go the right way and have new elections, just like Janos Juvan should do!”, says Latschen. Feedback process should bring solution very important, but it should also take place in direct exchange and not through the media.” That only causes a stir, not solutions. He is grateful for the support of the federal and state board and therefore wants to “take a close look at, process and evaluate” the election result. Starting tomorrow, all members of Neos Carinthia will be invited to take part in a feedback process that should last several weeks. Also the wing of his critics. Regarding the threatened party exits, Juvan says: “If for a few the membership in the Neos depends on me being the state spokesman, then that’s a shame, but I can’t change it”.
