A look back at the second opus of the “Jurassic Park” saga directed by Steven Spielberg in 1998, and with a cameo from the director that is practically impossible to spot.

Like many pop culture franchises, the prehistoric epic initiated by Steven Spielberg in 1993 includes many small details hidden around a famous scene, or carefully hidden in the middle of an iconic shot.
The Lost World, made by Spielberg five years after Jurassic Park, and in which the chaotician played by Jeff Goldblum goes to Isla Sorna to join his fiancée, is not left out in terms of Easter eggs, far from it!
The wink that will interest us today is found in the very last seconds of the feature film. To spot it, press “pause” at exactly 1 hour, 59 minutes and 52 seconds of the film. After successfully neutralizing the T-Rex which had terrorized the inhabitants of San Diego, Ian Malcolm, Sarah Hardling and Kelly enjoy a well-deserved rest, and follow the return of the tyrannosaurus to Isla Sorna live, slumped on their sofa.

However, when we stop the image on the television screen and observe very carefully the reflection of the set, we realize that there are not three, but four people sitting on the sofa ( see above) ! Installed between Jeff Goldblum and Julianne Moore, the fourth sports a big smile, a pair of sunglasses and a cap.
You guessed it, it’s quite simply Steven Spielberg, who allowed himself a small appearance in the last minutes of his film.
But this nice cameo from the filmmaker is not the only easter egg hidden in The Lost World. Indeed, throughout the film, you will also notice the presence of screenwriter David Koepp, who is devoured by the T-Rex, or a sign prohibiting bringing animals into San Diego.
