Jürgen Drews: Corona crisis does not (yet) tear a hole in his wallet

On April 2, Schlager singer Jürgen Drews (74, "A bed in the cornfield") celebrates his 75th birthday. In times of Corona, however, there is no big celebration, as he revealed in the "Bild am Sonntag". The singer also seems to live quite carefree in this uncertain time, in contrast to many of his musician colleagues. Because apparently the corona crisis doesn't hit him financially as much as some other musicians.

"I made provisions and invested my money well. That's why the corona crisis doesn't hit me financially as hard as many of my colleagues," Drews told BamS. However, as a self-employed person, he naturally has running costs that he has so far been able to cover with his income from appearances and music sales: "This income is currently being lost. I can still bear these costs for a while. However, if the corona crisis persists for a long time, it must I also think about how to continue professionally. "

Pension of 200 euros

Drews will at least not be able to make a living from his pension, as he admits: "That's not even 200 euros. I can have a nice meal with Ramona." But only for financial reasons, despite his proud age, he would not be on stage: "Because I still have a lot of fun," said the singer. However, he had already significantly reduced his appearances in order to have more time with the family. But he doesn't think about quitting yet.
