Football coach Jürgen Klopp mourns his mother. "Owing to the terrible times" he cannot come to her funeral.

The successful soccer coach Jürgen Klopp (53, Liverpool FC) mourns the loss of his mother, Elisabeth Klopp, who died at the age of 81, as the "Black Forest Messenger" reports. "She meant everything to me. She was a real mom in the best sense of the word. As a devout Christian, I know that she is in a better place now," he is quoted as saying by the local newspaper. According to the report, the two last saw each other on their 80th birthday. The famous son had visited his mother in Germany to celebrate the day.

Jürgen Klopp, who works and lives in Liverpool, England, will not be able to travel to the funeral service. The entry ban that the federal government has issued because of the corona mutations and the quarantine regulations of the two countries prevent it. "The fact that I cannot attend the funeral is due to the terrible times," explains Klopp. But he doesn't give up. "As soon as circumstances permit, we will hold a wonderful commemoration to suit her."

Jürgen Klopp's father died in 2000. His mother leaves three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
