Just restyled and already sold off: the electric Peugeot e-208 is reviewing its prices

There is movement among the most accessible electric cars. While some stars of the market risk losing their ecological bonus in 2024, like the Dacia Spring and the MG4, Citroën seems well equipped to win orders with its new ë-C3 city car, sold from 23,300 € excluding bonus of €5000.

It is perhaps to prepare for the arrival of the small Citroën that Peugeot is now reviewing the prices of its electric city car. Thus, after having lowered the price of its compact electric e-308, it is the turn of the small e-208 to lower its prices which previously started at €35,300 (excluding bonuses). Although it is based on a different technical base and offers a more upscale positioning, the e-208 would have had difficulty justifying the €12,000 which separated it from its cousin at Citroën.

The Peugeot e-208 drops below €35,000

The entry ticket for the Peugeot e-208 now increases to €34,850 in entry-level Active finish, or only €450 reduction. An immediate discount currently in place nevertheless allows this floor price to be lowered to €33,810. As a reminder, the Peugeot 208 has just been restyled and its electric version now receives a battery with a total capacity of 51 kWh (50 kWh previously), which powers a new 115 kW motor, or 156 hp (100 kW/136 hp previously). ), for a WLTP range of 410 km.

The old motor-battery pair, however, remains available with the specific E-Style finish, which has a range of 362 km. The list price of the latter increases to €35,900, reaching a discounted price of €33,830, which therefore brings it closer to the Active finish. It remains €20 more expensive, despite lower autonomy and performance, because it offers some additional equipment.

Produced in Slovakia, the Peugeot e-208 should retain its eligibility for the ecological bonus in 2024. The thermal versions of the 208 do not benefit from this price reduction and remain displayed at the prices announced at the end of September.
