Four men and a woman, of Bulgarian and Armenian nationalities, were indicted Thursday after the dismantling of a pimping network exploiting a dozen young women of Bulgarian origin in Cher, announced the Bourges prosecutor’s office.
Aged 27 to 59, these five people, arrested on Monday, were remanded in custody, prosecutor Joël Garrigue said in a statement. They were indicted on the charge of “aggravated pimping”, namely “in a meeting, with regard to several victims brought to the national territory in order to prostitute them”.
Several vehicles seized
Young women prostituted themselves “in the forests of the Vierzon region”, according to this press release.
The searches carried out “allowed the seizure of several vehicles and nearly 30,000 euros in cash”, specified the magistrate, adding that “the investigations will continue on rogatory commission in the weeks and months to come”
Last month, four Bulgarian nationals were indicted in Bordeaux for aggravated pimping and human trafficking. They also forced young Bulgarian women into prostitution in Bordeaux and in parking areas used by truck drivers.
