Justice Mosques tagged in the Doubs: a former RN candidate confesses his gesture


On Wednesday, a former RN candidate in the departmental elections admitted to having tagged crosses of Lorraine in November on a mosque and two Turkish centers in the Doubs.

Frontier worker, the 23-year-old man was brought before the Besançon prosecutor’s office on Wednesday and placed under judicial control, said prosecutor Etienne Manteaux, confirming information from the Republican East. He will be tried on February 9 before the Criminal Court of Besançon.

“He recognized the facts”, that is to say to have inscribed crosses of Lorraine on these mosques located in Montlebon, Pontarlier and Besançon in November 2021, continued the prosecutor.

The RN too “lax”

According to Etienne Manteaux, he explained that he believed that “the Muslim religion is not compatible with the values ​​of France” and that “mosques are not France”.

The suspect, in whom a copy of Mein Kampf was found but which ensures “not to adhere to the ideas” of Hitler, affirmed to have drawn a cross of Lorraine, historical symbol of the Resistance and Gaullism, “to show that France is a strong country”, according to the prosecutor .

Losing candidate of the RN in the departmental elections in the canton of Cluse-et-Mijoux, he left at the end of 2021 the party he considered “too lax”.

He has already been sentenced three times in France and Switzerland, where he currently lives, in particular for carrying weapons and domestic violence.

For these acts of degradation of a cultural place with a religious motive: he incurs a sentence of seven years in prison.
