Agreement reached after prosecution for driving under the influence of alcohol

After Justin Timberlake was arrested and charged with drunk driving in June, he was able to reach an agreement with the judge.
He’s back on track: Almost three months after Justin Timberlake was arrested for drunk driving on June 18, he made a deal with the judge on Wednesday, September 11. The 43-year-old musician, who is currently on a major world tour, has only admitted to a traffic violation. The singer’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., and the prosecutor convinced the judge to agree to the following agreement: the drunk driving charge will be officially dropped, but the pop star will have to answer for driving while impaired.
The sentence is much less severe, meaning the singer will only be fined between $300 and $500. The judge is expected to determine the exact amount of the fine during a hearing on Friday, September 13, when the agreement will be officially discussed in court.
A big victory for Justin, who faced a maximum sentence of up to one year in prison after his arrest in Sag Harbor, Long Island.
The driving license is still gone for the time being
Timberlake was arrested in the Hamptons in June after he apparently missed a stop sign and did not stay on the right side of the road. At a hearing in a US court, the singer pleaded “not guilty”, as several US media reported. He said he was not drunk, but had only drunk a martini.
The father of two’s driving license was nevertheless revoked. According to “TMZ,” this was standard procedure because he refused a breathalyzer test after being stopped. In New York, refusing a breathalyzer test leads to an automatic license suspension for one year.
