Kaamelott 2: Alexandre Astier gives (good) news in “En Aparté”

Guest of the program “En Aparté” on Canal + on March 25 on the occasion of the arrival of “Kaamelott: Premier shutter” exclusively on the encrypted channel, Alexandre Astier released some information on the continuation of what will be a film saga.

While the first film was seen by more than 2.5 million spectators in theaters at the time of its release, Alexandre Astier is now working on the two sequels which are due to see the light of day. And, good news, fans of Arthur and his knights won’t have to wait ten years for the next installment – unlike the wait between the first film and the end of the series – since the director announces that he is already in the starting blocks. blocks.

“I would like to shoot next spring. In the spring of 2023, if I can do it”, thus confided Alexandre Astier to Nathalie Levy. Better still, the third opus will be filmed at the same time, since Alexandre Astier indicates that the two films were thought of as a single feature film declined in two parts. “He’s a bit Kill Bill, you know? It’s two times two hours, separated by four/five months of release. So, already for me, it’s a four-hour film shoot. It’s a little different,” he said.

For the moment, Alexandre Astier is careful not to announce a release date for the two parts, but the specialized press does not despair of seeing the second film released in theaters by the summer of 2024, before offering the third a few months. later, during the holiday season. But all of this remains entirely hypothetical at this stage.
