Perceval’s best friend – better known for his love of good food than for his intelligence or his zeal – the knight Karadoc, played by Jean-Christophe Hembert, is one of the essential characters in the Kaamelott series. Famous for his sometimes scathing replies, often off the mark, but always hilarious, he never tires of talking about grub and charcuterie.

But do you really know Karadoc’s tirades inside out? Are you sure you can recite them by heart? The time has come to check that you are a real fan of the series created by Alexandre Astier by answering our special quiz.

Tribute

The very first episode of the series, entitled Heat, obviously refers to the famous feature film by Michael Mann worn by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. A film that Alexandre Astier particularly likes, and to which he also paid tribute in episode 78 of book IV. We can indeed see Arthur and Lancelot, seated at a tavern, exchanging almost the same lines as the two protagonists of Heat.

Guests at Kaamelott Castle

In addition to the excellent main actors who carried the six seasons of the series, many guests also made more or less important appearances in Kaamelott. Over the course of the episodes, we can thus come across (among others) Elie Semoun as a Witch Hunter, Bruno Salomone as a Roman centurion, Léa Drucker as a Fairy Morgane, Lorànt Deutsch as a Burgundian interpreter or even Virginie Efira as the wife of Bohort.

In a galaxy far, far away…

In the series Kaamelott, nods to famous works of cinema are not lacking. Beyond Heat, Alexandre Astier also pays homage to the legendary Star Wars saga in episode 43 of Book III. We can see Perceval crossing a space-time portal and landing on a desert planet with two suns. He brings with him a strange “trinket”, which actually turns out to be a lightsaber.
